Thankful Thursday

Tycoon-ism: In the New Testament, religion is grace and ethics is gratitude. -Thomas Erskine

Our actions speak for what we are as persons. Every word, every smile, every frown, makes a person. Every thought could either make or break a day. Our interconnection with the world, with the people around us, makes us one important entity that effects change not just to people but to the world itself. We don’t exist for ourselves, and for things that matter to us. We are here due to purpose. We are an important element of the surviving world.

We could be surrounded by teachings and beliefs, but it is our own freewill to do what we please that matters and changes us, the people surrounding us, and everything around us. Doing one good thing, no matter how simple, unselfishly, is a big thing, even if we don’t agree it is, and could be a key to serve and help others, and to becoming a better person.

To possess good ethics is a gift. It may not come naturally, but to acquire it in time is a wonderful thing. Having it is such a natural way to acknowledge and be thankful of our gift of life, of the beauty of what we are.

There may be no such thing as perfect, but to be thankful of the moment, and of this life, makes us whole.
