Future Friday
Tycoon-ism: The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, nor to worry about the future, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly. – Buddha
Life is too short for us to be thinking too much. Yes, it pays to plan, and to
think ahead, but to forget to value the present is not a healthy thing. It is normal to recall the past, to think about happy times and bad, but to live within the walls of the past is like being dead.
Life has its ups and downs, and we all have our dreams. Memories are good, and a big part of what we are, but the past is gone, and we cannot let it interfere with our life if it is. We never ran out of things to desire, and we tend to do almost anything to achieve our goals. We then forget one thing, that we have a life, a present life. A good future is not worth it, if you’re living the present not even choosing to be just happy. What good can your future do if you just got so tired preparing for it, that you have no life left to even enjoy it?
When all else fails in this world, there is just one you can depend on – yourself. Be healthy in every way you can. Think well, eat well … and live your present life well. You never know when your last present day will be.
