Wealth Wednesday

Tycoon-ism: Books are the treasured wealth of the world and the fit inheritance of generations and nations. – Henry David Thoreau

We are children of the world, products of a rich culture and of a remarkable history. Everything that we have around us is an important part of our past. Our present is a gift to treasure, and the future is the connection to what life is all about.

There are mysteries left unsolved, questions left unanswered a lot more things waiting to be known and discovered. Knowledge, and seeking it, is our children’s hope to a better world. Information is the medium to a better understanding of life. There may be people surrounding us, and things that speak for questions and realities, but books are as great as the great teachers in introducing, nurturing and maintaining life and its reality to the minds and hearts of the people. In books are memorable proofs of the beauty and wonder of life, unchangeable information of where we came from, and amazing stories of our natural humanity.

Time passes, things change, people vanish, and all else fades. In time, there is nothing more dependable than an old writing from an experienced individual speaking about the truth behind a wonder. Books, no matter how simple they may be, are the most valuable inheritance that we have from the past, meaningful and credible medium of the present, and a great gift to our children.

What gift is greater than continuous knowledge, endless travel and unlimited connection to life? What in the world is as valuable as a mind maintained by great books of life? Be it for the past, the present and the future, books are wealth.

Thanks for posting this article. I’m decidedly frustrated with struggling to search out pertinent and rational comment on this matter. Everybody now goes to the very far extremes to either drive home their viewpoint that either: everyone else in the planet is wrong, or two that everyone but them does not really understand the situation. Many thanks for your succinct, relevant insight.

Hi. I treasured to drop you a quick note to impart my thanks. I’ve been observing your blog for a month or so and have picked up a heap of good information as well as enjoyed the way you’ve structured your site. I am attempting to run my own blog however I think its too general and I would like to focus more on smaller topics.

Good read … headline catchy … good points, some of which I have learned along the way as well (humility, grace, layoff the controversial stuff). Will share with my colleagues at work as we begin blogging from a corporate perspective. Thanks!
