How do you spend your time? Do you spend it wisely?
Think about it this and get a pen and paper and write down things that you have done and accomplished during the day. How much time have you set aside for work? How much time have you spent watching the television, studying and doing housework… Whatever you have done today, write them down and assess your list objectively.
How much time have you spent for your family?
I am not talking about eating or watching television with them. I am referring to quality time with your wife and your children. When I say quality time, I am referring to the time you have actually sat down, discuss and spoke to your children about how their day went and how they are doing in school and how their relationship is going with their fellow classmates and friends. Do you have time to do this everyday? If you don’t then there is something wrong in the picture.
How much time have you sat down with your spouse without the children around? How much time do you put into your relationship. There is no doubt that alot of strains in marriages begin when you fail to spend or allocate time with your spouse. Just because you are tired of work does not mean you do not have to allocate time with your spouse.
Nurturing a relationship needs time and effort– there is no doubt about that I will not lie to you all. It needs dedication and is a lifetime commitment. Living a life means not only means having fun and enjoying the reap of your hardwork. It means more than that.
Tribulations in life and outside interference will always be there. It will come and go into your life and how you respond to that is important because these will ultimately affect your relationship with your spouse, your children and yourself. When you think of it this way, acceptance of family and other responsibilities will be easier. Bucking the system of life will not give you long term happiness at all.
Spend quality time with your spouse and children. Spend quality time with people who matters to you. Do you have problems imagining your life and how you want it to go? Write down everything you need to do the next day! This way, you will be able to allocate quality time for people who matters in your heart. Do this everyday and I bet you will be happier and secured all the way…
